Ben graduated from John Makepeace’s furniture college at Parnham in 1995.  His early career saw him design and produce a series of one-off furniture pieces and products for clients using a range of diverse materials from recycled plastics to concrete.  

His first product, the recycled plastic People’s Chair, was snapped up by the Science Museum for its 20th century design section. Ben’s enthusiasm for using unusual materials and problem-solving design combined with a distinctively cool but fun aesthetic has caught the attention of the national design press on many occasions.
