Ben would tell you that the motivation for the Little Star table was taken from a 1963 interview with founding member of the De stijl Group Gerrit Reitveld, in which the designer envisaged a future where a single material could be transformed in to product using a single process. Another story sites his inspiration as coming from a party trick involving three knives and four bottles of wine. Whatever you believe, this is the result. A simple 'puzzle' involving three identical triangular forms over which the table top is slotted, clamping the base and forming a solid structure without the use of glue or any other fixings. Its triangular pizza-style packaging is a marvel in itself.
