Made entirely from Hemcrete, a breakthrough material consisting of UK grown Cannabis Sativa Santhica (a non-narcotic industrial hemp), and a lime based binding agent form this bio-composite. The chair sequests (locks in) 60kg of carbon per unit. Cast in one piece, the chair is removed from the mould after fourteen days and allowed to dry for a further four weeks. Originally designed to demonstrate the moulding capabilities of the material (and to poke a stick at the carbon off-setting industry), the chairs are now made to order.
